The purpose of the day is to introduce you to the club and its workings including booking trips, convoy procedure, some safety knowledge such as the Reverse Hill Stall Procedure and recovery fundamentals (safe use of a Snatch Strap), plus a bit of an introduction to one of the properties we have access to.
We don't presume any prior knowledge on the day. We class the day as "Medium" difficulty (as we will be using low range for part of the day), however, the day is designed as an introduction so there won't be anything scary.
We have a number of instructors who check over your vehicle and provide valuable information about how to drive off road in a convoy safely. We talk about safety equipment such as snatch straps, tree protectors, portable air compressors and first aid kits.
We then are required to run you through a reverse hill stall procedure and make sure you are confident with applying this procedure.
We also give you information about the club, how we operate and how you can participate in our activities.
Whether you are brand new to 4wding or have had years’ experience in off road vehicles, this is a mandatory part of our testing for the club and is required before you proceed on any of our 4wding trips with the TLCC club of Qld (Inc).
Once you complete a Membership Application, you will be able to book into one of our upcoming New Members Days that normally run on a Sunday from 8am to 3pm.
