Introduction to Navigation Workshop

An afternoon workshop introducing you to the fundamentals of Navigation
- What is a map
- Common terminology
- What do all those funny numbers mean
- What is magnetic declination/variation and why should I care
- An overview of navigation aids and how to use them
We’ll try to improve your understanding of how to get the most out of your GPS, maps and perhaps get lost a little less often …
(Remember, you’re not lost if you don’t know here you are, only if you don’t know where you’re going)
Be there for 12:00 pm, aiming to finish around 4-4:30pm
Where:
- Kym and Mitch’s place
- 11 Willmott Court, Rochedale South (off street parking available in our back yard)
What to Bring:
- Compass (if you have one)
- GPS (if you have one)
- Computing device with navigation software (if you have one)
- A/some maps (if you have any)
- Questions (I reckon you’ll have some of those)
