Sand Driving Course

This is a fairly informal training weekend for all the family. It is held at Noosa North Shore and drive on Cooloola Beach. We stay at the Noosa North Shore tourist park, and it is best booked on 5447 1225. Tell them you are with the Landcruiser Club, so they know to give sites near the gazebo where the course meets.

We start at 8.00am on the Saturday morning so we can be on the beach during low tide. There is a short session on theory then we drive on the beach. We should be back at the caravan park midafternoon for some free time to go fishing, for a swim or just have a rest. There is a pool at the park.

Saturday night, we usually book a table at the bistro. You can join in, or self-cater.

Sunday, we drive up to Double Island Point and depending on conditions, may be able to drive to Rainbow Beach.

You will need morning tea and lunch in the car on Saturday and it is strongly suggested you bring a long-handled shovel, and any other traction aids you own – e.g. MaxxTraxx so we can play with them on the beach.
