Friday 26th April – thinking of taking the day off for a 4 day weekend, but not sure what to do?
Join us for a tour of the Scenic Rim and Great Dividing Range, and make the day as short or as long as you like. Leave the convoy whenever suits you, or even book a place to stay for a night or two to make the most of everything the region has to offer.
Part 1: Blooper Rewind at Spicers Gap.
Visit the site of the 2022 Blooper of the Year Award “Easy, 1 hour in, 1 hour out” record number of recoveries in the space of 3 hours. Last time it wasn’t to be, this time the track is in good condition as originally advertised, drive (and walk) to the Governors Chair lookout from the western side of Cunningham’s Gap.
Part 2: 14 River Run
Condamine River from Killarney to Carneys Creek – Easy drive. See the source of the Condamine River and enjoy the beautiful surrounds as you cross the meandering river 14 times through the mountains.
Part 3: Boonah 4oclock track.
Medium to difficult optional track. We may make it there before 4pm and enjoy good fortune. Or we may enjoy the track in twilight. We’ll just have to see how the day goes.
Meet Up Time & Location:
8am at Aratula across from the bakery.
What to Bring:
Bring morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for picnic stops along the way.
Bring a comfortable chair, comfortable walking shoes for Governors Chair lookout.
Bring Recovery gear as normal just in case and especially if Driving Part 3 medium to difficult track at Boonah is suited for high clearance vehicles only.
