Come along and experience what club life was like in 70’s to the 2000’s.
We have booked the Stanthorpe Showgrounds, camping in same area we used for Corroboree,-with excellent on-site enclosed areas for socialising and showing movies–for those who are not camping there is Motel-Hotel-C/van Pk(cabins) close by(see suggestions below) plenty of sightseeing and shops nearby.
Powered ($25)-unpowered sites ($20) per night–(please book 1 ticket of preferred camping per number of night’s your staying. ie. staying 2 nights, purchase 2 tickets)
Water–showers–dump point, limited power points so bring long leads– bring comfy chairs for the movies,(plus popcorn)- pets allowed but must be on leash at all times in open areas of Showground. For those who have more time to spare we have extended the days as we will be inviting “past” club members as well, many of whom have retired, this event is classified as a “socials activity” so anybody can attend. lf there is any club member who would like to run a trip on the Saturday (daytime) let me know, maybe revisit a trip from the Corroboree, 4×4 trip will only be available to current financial members, if “NO” 4wdriving activity is planned then open to everyone, otherwise during the day your time is your own, lots to see & do on the Granite Belt.
Movies will be shown on Fri. & Sat. night, each night will be 2x1hr movies with interval in between (Tea-Coffee etc). please bring a plate if you can, hoping to kick off by 7-30pm each night— Lots of Socials & 4WDriving activities including 70’s driver training–progressive dinners– magazine compiling(old style)–Tlcc fishing club–Moreton Isl– 10 yrs Stradbroke lsl -Easter Escapades–Dinner Dances incl. live stage performances by club members–suck it & see outings–community projects–long distance trips & lots-lots more(including a few suprises)
This is a great opportunity to experience past club life, maybe get some ideas and run something similar for the club, there will be plenty of past club members to chat to as well.
